Truss UpliftNovember 2nd 2004
My son-in-law is having problems with truss lifts whereby the ceiling is separating from the wall.
How can he fix that problem and why is the ceiling separating from the wall?
The floors are not moving. The floor joists are 18" and he has checked them with a "string line" and are all even? Your help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Your concern is called truss uplift, and it's caused by inadequate roof cavity ventilation and air leakage. For information on air leakage please call 1 800 387 2000 and request an air leakage brochure.
