The Activities:

CAR 1225

The 1225 runs from Cloverdale Station to Sullivan Station every weekend throughout the summer.

The ride goes through the farm lands to Sullivan Station, passing across Highway 10, where people wave to passengers on the train as it goes by.

The train ride takes approximately 55 mins round trip. The passenger attendant on each train gives a commentary on the journey.

Ride the refurbished Speeder the length of the FVHRS spur, past the crocodile pond, and all the flora and fauna that grows beside the track.

See what birds you can identify you might be surprised at what is there!

Feel the wind in your hair as you travel along the route, and enjoy the comments of our friendly brakeman.

A hand cart, or velocipede, is a railroad car powered by its passengers, or by people pushing the car from behind. It was mostly used for maintenance of rails but it was also used for passenger service in some cases. A typical design consists of an arm, called the walking beam, that pivots, seesaw-like, on a base, which the passengers alternately push down and pull up to move the car.

Have a ride on the velocipede – located in the Cloverdale Station Carbarn. Velocipede rides are included with the Carbarn Tour.

Children must be 4ft 6 ins tall to ride the velocipede.

After your ride on Car 1225, take a guided tour of the Carbarn and see the restoration process underway!

During the 30 minute Carbarn Tour, you will:

  • Learn all about the history of the Interurban as it used to run throughout Vancouver and the Fraser Valley
  • See the restoration of Car 1225, and what was done to get it ready for operation
  • Find Car 1304, currently being restored by our team of volunteer craftsman
  • Experience the restored Velocipede, the self propelled vehicle that was used on the track many years ago
  • Ride the Speeder down the spur

Complete your experience with a visit to our Transit Museum in the replica Cloverdale Station.
