Recaulking your bathtub or shower stall

November 28th 2001

Remove the old grout or caulk with an awl or putty knife. Clean the joint with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth.

Fill the tub with water, making it heavy enough to pull the tub away from the tile. Fill the joint with a silicone or latex caulking that will stay flexible.

Smooth caulking joint with your finger. Wet your finger with cold water to stop caulking from sticking to your finger.
