Yellowed door frame - January 14th 2002

Question from: Mike
Kitchener, ON

Dear Shell,

I have a checkerboard plastic frame around the front door window that has yellowed. The frames on the windows on each side of the door are a nice white. Is there any way to clean the yellowed frame to bring it back to its original white colour?

Thanks, Mike

Dear Mike,

The majority of steel entrance doors with plastic framed glass get installed and the plastic and the door never get painted. All white steel doors are only primed. As soon as the weather is suitable, consider painting your door and plastic mouldings with best quality acrylic latex exterior house paint. Prepare the door for painting by first washing with my Shell Busey's Home Cleaning Formula or TSP using a new abrasive pot scrubber pad allow to dry. Apply two coats of paint on front, back and sides of door.

It's just that easy.
