Use Hair Dryer To Calm That Curling Vinyl Floor - March 23rd 2015
Q: We have vinyl flooring in our bathroom. It is in good shape, except for the part that butts up to the shower stall. I guess water escaping from the shower has caused it to loosen and curl. Is there a product that I can use to re-stick and seal this vinyl?
A: To start, vacuum along the curled vinyl, ensuring the dust and residue has been removed from under the floor. Using a hair dryer, warm the curled area of vinyl flooring, making it warm and flexible. Pull back and apply a full-strength coat of Weldbond all-purpose adhesive.
Push flooring into place – it may require more heat – and weigh down with books or some other heavy object overnight. Clean with water when cured and caulk with a bathroom-grade silicone.
It's Just That Easy!
