Programmable Thermostats For Heat Pump - November 21st 2006
Q. I have a Heat pump in my home with a 24 hour / 7 day programmable thermostat.
Now what I would like to know is if I can get that changed to a manual thermostat with heating and cooling so I can then switch it to one or the other and adjust the temperature accordingly without having the inconvenience of the 24/7 set-up?
Can anyone in the industry do this or does it have to be someone associated with Heat Pumps?
A. Very few thermostats are committed to a 24/7 clock, to my knowledge. Normally they can be switched on to a manual operation, if you prefer. Contact Honeywell directly @ 1-877-271-8620 for information on their line of thermostats, I'm sure they will be able to help you and their products are very user friendly. Have all your information ready when you call them; i.e. Make and model of heat pump and voltage of thermostat.
