Problems with paint in the bathroom - May 29th 2000

I am having a real problem keeping the paint on in my bathroom. We have an older house and I am sure that its been painted a dozen times. We have just recently installed a ceiling fan to exhaust the steam when we are showering but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. The paint peels off we have tried oil base paints and latex paints to no avail. We just can't seem to get anything to stick we would sure appreciate some advice on what to do.
Your concern starts up top in the roof cavity. Install R40 insulation to insure that the ceiling temperature during the winter remains at room temp. Wash ceiling and walls with my Shell Busey’s Home Cleaning Formula and rinse well. Using an all-purpose alkyd primer paint walls and ceiling. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Finish with Kitchen and Bath Paint. The ceiling exhaust fan should be put on a 1 hour timer to be used during and after every shower or bath. Turn the timer to 1 hour when leaving the bathroom and leave the door open.
It’s just that easy.
