Painting a Tongue and Groove Cedar Ceiling - March 6th 2003

Question to Shell from Bill in Parksville, B.C. -----

Dear Shell,

The ceiling in our living room is made of cedar board (tung & groove). It makes the room very dark. We want to paint it white, fill the cracks between the boards and want to know the "best" product out there to cover up the cedar.

Thanks very much,

Bill

Dear Bill,

Paint the ceiling? Sure, but I'm not sure I'd want to fill the seams.

You might be surprised how attractive your painted plank ceiling could be.

1. Wash ceiling with Shell Busey’s Home Cleaning Formula.

2. Rinse Well

3. Allow to dry

4. Apply Fast Dry Alkyd Primer and allow to dry.

5. Finish with 2 coats of best quality Acrylic Latex Paint.

It's Just That Easy!
