Q: We are renovating our cottage this summer that is built on pad and post foundation with a 36-inch crawl space underneath. This Cottage was closed up for the winter and not heated. On recommendation from my contractor’s supplier, I am planning to install click laminate flooring in the living and bedroom areas. I have heard that click flooring will not withstand an unheated winter. Can you confirm what the true story is?
A: There always seems to be a variety of opinions given, telling you that this is correct or not correct etc. As long as you follow the flooring instructions properly as far as set back for expansion and contraction you should be fine. Just think of all those cold trucks, rail cars, ships etc. during the shipment of the product around the world.
