Cork Flooring
January 28, 2002
Question from: Stena
St. Albert, AB
Dear Shell,
I need some information about cork flooring. I know nothing about cork floor but because of a sewer back up in our basement we have to replace the flooring and I was wondering if cork flooring could be used in a basement on concrete flooring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Stena
Dear Stena,
Cork flooring is a very good flooring for traffic areas and working areas. It is very resilient and can be stained and finished with a durable urethane finish. Applying over concrete I would recommend Delta FL and plywood for a sub floor first or a new product available at most major building supply stores called Dricore sub floor system.
