Q) I have a treated wood deck that has been painted with a non-slip paint that is now peeling. How can I remove the peeling paint?
A) First, remove the paint with high pressure water, making sure to hold the wand on a 40 degree angle so as not to leave high pressure etching in the treated lumber. Pressure treated wood should not be painted. Most paint manufacturers produce semi-transparent stains for treated lumber available in different colors that seal wood and leave a semi-transparent stain like finish, such as Cloverdale Paint's Timberlox Stain.
