Q Do have any suggestions on how to get my plastic laminate countertops clean.? I have tried several over-the-counter cleaning products and my countertops are still looking quite dull, with grey staining in the grooves that has built up over time.

A Although countertops made of arborite hold up well to spills and scratches, they can tend to get a build-up of stains after years of continued use. Try a simple mixture of baking soda and water. First dampen the surface with water, sprinkle on the baking soda and lightly scrub with a damp sponge. Let sit for a few minutes and then rinse with clear water and a clean cloth. To brighten the finish, try a product called "Countertop Magic." This is a spray cleaner made to clean and restore the lustre of Formica and plastic laminates; it's available through home-improvement stores.
