One of the most hazardous and messy spring chores around your home is the cleaning of gutters or eaves troughs. Whether it’s the getting up on a rickety ladder or sifting through layer upon layer of wet decaying leafs and needles; cleaning your gutters is not the most pleasant of chores.
You’ve probably seen different products advertised online, in print or television that promise you clog free gutters. These products can include traps, screens, and other such inventions that will clog themselves over time, only delaying that trip up the ladder to remove the debris.
A gutter system that is truly maintenance free, and has a 15 year history to back that claim, is LeafGuard. The LeafGuard gutter system is based on the physics of water adhesion.
Ever tried to water your house plants with a cup instead of a watering spout? Rather than pouring out onto the soil, the water adheres to the side of the cup and will run off the first hard edge it finds… being the bottom of the cup. This is exactly what makes LeafGuard gutters so effective. LeafGuard gutters are designed with a hood that protects the trough from filling with debris such as leaves, dirt and needles. As water washes down the roof and over the gutter, the debris will slip over the side, while draining water adheres to the under lip of the hood, flowing down through the gutter and out to your downspout.
LeafGuard Gutters are also the most durable on the market. They are made of .032 gauge aluminum which is approximately 20% thicker than conventional gutters. The gutter is screwed to the fascia board every 2 feet with internal hanging brackets, unlike conventional gutters that are attached with spikes that can come loose. Downspouts are 3”x4” as opposed to 2”x3” which allows for larger volumes of water to be transferred and drained off your roofline.
One of the most notorious problems with gutter systems is that, over time they are prone to leak in corner joints. This is caused by water that can often pool in the corners, and freeze, forcing apart the joint and allowing water to leak through. LeafGuard has addressed this issue by forming their corners with an overlapping miter cut which, are custom made to fit any degree of angle, and will never leak..
LeafGuard gutters are available in 13 colors and compliment any home design. They are guaranteed never to clog, offering you peace of mind and one less chore to get done in spring or fall.
