Fore The Kids
April 23, 2012
My family and I are thrilled to be working with Easter Seals House. We have always enjoyed raising money for charity and in particular those involving children. As a former Lions Club member in Ontario and BC I am aware of the great work of the Lions Easter Seals House. My wife and I have two healthy grandchildren, other families are not so fortunate.
We hope to help Easter Seals House raise funds to continue their wonderful work providing a safe and comfortable home for out of town families when their children must come to Childrens Hospital for treatment.
The BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities mandate is to enrich the lives of children in British Columbia and the Yukon by "giving children abilities".
Our vision is to continue providing not only specialized services and facilities, but also challenging and supporting young hearts and minds as well. Giving children with disabilities self-esteem, self-confidence and a sense of independence is what our community is all about. Easter Seals Camps & Easter Seals Houses - Each summer we send over 900 children to Easter Seals Camps at no cost to their parents and/or guardians for a summer experience they will remember forever. For families facing cancer treatments, medical emergencies or treatments outside their community we are able to provide them with home-like accommodation and support with Easter Seals Houses. Each year Easter Seals Houses provide over 35,000 bed nights to children and their families. In order for us to continue to provide these essential services we rely on donor support.
To provide services to the children we rely on donor support and want to thank all participants from this year’s golf tournament, the sponsors and the community for helping the kids.
On July 18th, 2012. Join us at: Meadow Gardens Golf Course, in Pitt Meadows, BC, for a fun day of golf followed by a dinner and a roast of Shell Busey! The MC is none other than Steve Darling, from Global TV
